Making a Difference in the Lives of Others

Like you, we’re deeply committed to the safety, security, and honor deserving of our nation’s greatest heroes – military veterans, police, and firefighters, specifically. These courageous heroes who put their lives on the line and boldly put themselves in harm’s way are integral to protecting our constitutional heritage, security, and community safety. Whether living or deceased, those who serve or have served deserve our respect, and we welcome all who are willing to help us honor these heroic men and women.

The Joel and Jolene Owens family started the 1776 Owens Foundation (a non-profit and 501(c)(3) organization) to raise funds for and identify creative ways to recognize our nation's heroes. “One of our family’s core values is to make a difference in the lives of others – especially those that are too often forgotten – our military veterans, police, firefighters, and first responders. We are committed to helping these heroes and do so directly, minimizing overhead and administrative expense, so we can help drive the greatest possible impact”.

Honoring the Service of our Nations Heroes

Our Mission
The 1776 Owens Foundation is deeply committed to demonstrating gratitude and respect for our country's military veterans, law enforcement, firefighters and their families. Through special events and programs, we will be reminding our communities of those who sacrifice to safeguard and protect the liberties granted the citizens of our great country. Our events and programs will be rooted in fundraising activities so that our board can carefully select or build programs that will have the greatest impact on those who have served - and earned - the respect of all Americans.

Most fundraising will be associated with and surrounding a specific event. However, donations may be made at ANY time and done simply at this website, by means of Venmo, PayPal or directly with a credit or debit card. As a 501(c)(3), all donations are tax deductible.

A Minnesota-based non-profit, dedicated to properly honoring the service of our military veterans, police and firefighters.

Respect, dignity and compassion is deserving of anyone who has served honorably for our Nation. Most importantly, our youngest generations need to understand that heroes walk among us and can never be overlooked or forgotten.

To maximize our organization’s ability to identify the unique needs of these heroes, our Board of Directors and staff will always include representation from those who have served directly, in military service and police or firefighting services. In addition to developing ways to better support the needs of these heroes, our Board will always be dedicated to building memorable events, especially for our youth, so that more people begin to recognize the importance of the service these heroes have provided and why honoring them is so vital to protecting our heritage.
