The 1776 Owens Foundation will be managing and hosting an Independence Weekend Fireworks Event at the south end of Bone Lake on Friday, July 5th. As is usual, the event will begin shortly after sunset. Bone Lake residents and guests will be able to view this massive firework display from their homes, cabins, boats, or docks.
For those new to this event, the display is conducted from multiple barges from the middle of the south end of the lake. This is no small display and really something to be witnessed by more from the surrounding communities, if possible. For 18 years, the Joel & Jolene Owens family has hired a professional pyrotechnics agency from the Twin Cities to conduct this remarkable display. “All the latest fireworks technology – and techniques featured – at this unbelievable show put on by one of the most renowned pyrotechnics team in the Midwest.
In each of the last 18 years, donations were accepted and earmarked to go to military veterans or the families of fallen veterans. This year, the Owens family has now formed the 1776 Owens Foundation and recently launched its website at www.1776OwensFoundation.org. This 501(c)(3) non-profit now simplifies your tax-deductible donation while helping the organization’s founders establish and create more programs, and further its reach. In this same year, the founders decided to expand its program to support all who have sacrificed in their service – this includes military veterans, police, and firefighters.
“Your donation today can help us make a difference in the lives of those who have served and sacrificed for our country and all Americans – we will never take their service for granted and we will stand up and support these heroes and patriots who are in need - all while mentoring our youth and reminding all generations the meaning of heroism and the importance of service and sacrifice.”
